The Society’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) takes place on the second Tuesday in May each year over a 4 day period. In previous years they have taken place in Ayr, Weston-super-Mare and, in 2009, Llandudno. Our last AGM was in Cardiff.
Delegates can and do place items on the Agenda of the AGM provided they give 28 days written notice to the Secretary. These items are published on the Agenda and are decided by the votes of a necessary majority of Delegates at the AGM. The Delegation elects an individual from its own body to Chair the AGM.
Members can also write in with any questions they would like addressed at the AGM. In accordance with the Society's Rule 30.5, any such questions need to have been received 7 days prior to the AGM.
The Delegates have a Consultative Committee consisting of 12 Delegates who are voted in at AGMs. The Consultative Committee meet, on average four times a year, with the Society's Committee of Management to consider issues referred to it by a Resolution at a General Meeting of the Society. This Committee acts as a very useful communication bridge between the Committee of Management and the Delegates throughout the course of the year.
